Chapter 52: Rāma Crosses the Gaṅgā on Guha’s Boat
Text 2.52.80
अनुज्ञाय सुमत्रं च सबलं चैव तं गुहम्।
आस्थाय नावं रामस्तु चोदयामास नाविकान्॥
anujñāya sumantraṁ ca sabalaṁ caiva taṁ guham
āsthāya nāvaṁ rāmas tu codayām āsa nāvikān
anujñāya = having taken leave of; sumantram ca = Sumantra; sabalam = his armed force; ca eva = and; tam guham = Guha; āsthāya = got on and; nāvam = the boat; rāmaḥ tu = Rāma; codayām āsa = ordered [to start rowing]; nāvikān = the sailors.
Having taken leave of Sumantra, Guha and his armed force, Rāma got on the boat and ordered the sailors [to start rowing].
