Chapter 54: Rāmacandra Meets Bharadvāja Ṛṣi
Text 2.54.4
यथाक्षेमेण गच्छन्स पश्यंश्च विविधान्द्रुमान्।
निवृत्तमात्रे दिवसे रामः सौमित्रिमब्रवीत्॥
yathā-kṣemeṇa gacchan sa paśyaṁś ca vividhān drumān
nivṛtta-mātre divase rāmaḥ saumitrim abravīt
yathā-kṣemeṇa = carefully; gacchan = while going; saḥ paśyan = while noticing; ca = and; vividhān = varieties; drumān = of trees; nivṛtta-mātre divase = when the day had begun to end; rāmaḥ = Rāma; saumitrim = to Sumitrā’s son; abravīt = spoke [the following].
While going carefully and while noticing varieties of trees, Rāma spoke [the following] to Sumitrā’s son when the day had begun to end.
