yatra = where; bhāgīrathīm gaṅgām = Bhāgīrathī Gaṅgā; yamunā = Yamunā; abhipravartate = flows into; jagmuḥ = went; tam deśam uddiśya = toward the place; vigāhya = passing through; sumahat = a very large; vanam = forest; te = those; bhūmi-bhāgān = forest areas; vividhān = a variety of; deśān = and places within Vatsadeśa; ca api = and; manaḥ-ramān = charming; adṛṣṭa-pūrvān = that they had not seen before; paśyantaḥ = while observing; tatra tatra = on the way; yaśasvinaḥ = famous personsonalities.

Passing through a very large forest, those famous personalities went toward the place where Yamunā flows into Bhāgīrathī Gaṅgā while observing a variety of charming forest areas and places within Vatsadeśa that they had not seen before on the way.

Yaśasvinaḥ (“famous personalities”) indicates that they were worshipped by the residents of the places that they had passed through.
