Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 54: Rāmacandra Meets Bharadvāja Ṛṣi
Text 2.54.6

नूनं प्राप्ताः स्म संभेदं गङ्गायमुनयोर्वयम्।
तथा हि श्रूयते शब्दो वारिणो वारिघट्टितः॥

nūnaṁ prāptāḥ sma sambhedaṁ gaṅgā-yamunayor vayam
tathā hi śrūyate śabdo vāriṇo vāri-ghaṭṭitaḥ

nūnam = definitely; prāptāḥ sma = arrived; sambhedam = at the confluence; gaṅgā-yamunayoḥ = of Gaṅgā and Yamunā; vayam tathā hi = for we can; śrūyate = hear; śabdaḥ = the sound; vāriṇaḥ = of waters; vāri-ghaṭṭitaḥ = splashing with each other.

We have definitely arrived at the confluence of Gaṅgā and Yamunā for we can hear the sound of waters splashing with each other.

GLOSS. [The glossator reads vāri-gharṣajaḥ instead of vāri-ghaṭṭitaḥ] which can also indicate that they could hear the sound of waters [of the confluence] that resembled the sounds of wheels clashing with each other.
