Chapter 55: Rāma Leaves Bharadvāja’s Āśrama and Crosses the Yamunā

समासाद्य तु तं वृक्षं वसेद्वातिक्रमेत वा॥
samāsādya tu taṁ vṛkṣaṁ vased vātikrameta vā
samāsādya tu = upon reaching; tam = that; vṛkṣam = tree; vaset vā = she can tree there; atikrameta = pass on; vā = or.
Upon reaching that tree, she can stay there or pass on.
If Sītā-devī is tired, she could stay under the tree for some time. Otherwise she could move on [with Rāmacandra].
