Chapter 56: Rāma Reaches Citrakūṭa
Text 2.56.5
ततः संप्रस्थितः काले रामः सौमित्रिणा सह।
सीतां कमलपत्राक्षीमिदं वचनमब्रवीत्॥
tataḥ samprasthitaḥ kāle rāmaḥ saumitriṇā saha
sītāṁ kamala-patrākṣīm idaṁ vacanam abravīt
tataḥ = then; samprasthitaḥ = having departed; kāle = at the right time; rāmaḥ = Rāma; saumitriṇā saha = with Sumitrā’s son; sītām = to Sītā-devī; kamala-patra-akṣīm = whose eyes resembled lotus petals; idam = the following; vacanam = words; abravīt = spoke.
Having departed at the right time with Sumitrā’s son, Rāma then spoke the following words to Sītā-devī whose eyes resembled lotus petals.
