Chapter 58: Sumantra Conveys the Message of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.58.8
व्यालैर्मृगैराचरितं कृष्णसर्पनिषेवितम्।
कथं कुमारौ वैदेह्या सार्धं वनमुपस्थितौ॥
vyālair mṛgair ācaritaṁ kṛṣṇa-sarpa-niṣevitam
kathaṁ kumārau vaidehyā sārdhaṁ vanam upasthitau
vyālaiḥ = snakes; mṛgaiḥ = and ferocious animals; ācaritam = wander about there; kṛṣṇa-sarpa-niṣevitam = it is filled with black cobras; katham = how are; kumārau = the two boys; vaidehyā sārdham = with Vaidehī; vanam = of the forest; upasthitau = taking shelter.
How are the two boys taking shelter of the forest with Vaidehī? Snakes and ferocious animals wander about there. It is filled with black cobras.
