Chapter 58: Sumantra Conveys the Message of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.58.15
सूत मद्वचनात्तस्य तातस्य विदितात्मनः।
शिरसा वन्दनीयस्य वन्द्यौ पादौ महात्मनः॥
sūta mad-vacanāt tasya tātasya viditātmanaḥ
śirasā vandanīyasya vandyau pādau mahātmanaḥ
sūta = Sūta; mat-vacanāt = on My behalf; tasya tātasya = of My father; vidita-ātmanaḥ = and famous; śirasā = with your head; vandanīyasya = respectable; vandyau = offer obeisances; pādau = unto the feet; mahā-ātmanaḥ = a great soul.
Sūta, on My behalf, offer obeisances with your head unto the respectable feet of My father, a great and famous soul.
