Chapter 58: Sumantra Conveys the Message of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.58.16
सर्वमन्तःपुरं वाच्यं सूत मद्वचनात्त्वया।
आरोग्यमविशेषेण यथार्हं चाभिवादनम्॥
sarvam antaḥ-puraṁ vācyaṁ sūta mad-vacanāt tvayā
ārogyam aviśeṣena yathārhaṁ cābhivādanam
sarvam = everyone in [My father’s]; antaḥ-puram = inner quarters; vācyam = ask; sūta = Sūta; mat-vacanāt = on My behalf; tvayā = you should; ārogyam = about their health; aviśeṣena = without discrimination between them; yathā-arham = as appropriate; ca = and; abhivādanam = convey My respectful obeisances unto them.
Sūta, on My behalf, you should ask everyone in [My father’s] inner quarters about their health, without discriminating between them, and convey My respectful obeisances unto them as appropriate.
