Chapter 60: Kausalyā Continues to Lament
Text 2.60.1
ततो भूतोपसृष्टेव वेपमाना पुनःपुनः।
धरण्यां गतसत्वेव कौसल्या सूतमब्रवीत्॥
tato bhūtopasṛṣṭeva vepamānā punaḥ punaḥ
dharaṇyāṁ gata-sattveva kausalyā sūtam abravīt
tataḥ = then; bhūta-upasṛṣṭā = a lifeless woman possessed by a ghost; iva = like; vepamānā = writhed in convulsions; punaḥ punaḥ = repeatedly; dharaṇyām = on the ground; gata-sattvā iva = a lifeless 1; kausalyā = Kausalyā; sūtam = the sūta; abravīt = she told [as follows].
Then Kausalyā repeatedly writhed in convulsions on the ground like a lifeless woman possessed by a ghost. She told the sūta [as follows].
