Chapter 60: Kausalyā Continues to Lament
Text 2.60.16
अध्वना वातवेगेन संभ्रमेणातपेन च।
न विगच्छति वैदेह्याश्चन्द्रांशुसदृशी प्रभा॥
adhvanā vāta-vegena sambhrameṇātapena ca
na vigacchati vaidehyāś candrāṁśu-sadṛśī prabhā
adhvanā = on the way; vāta-vegena = by the force of the wind; sambhrameṇa = by agitation due to fear of tigers and other wild beasts; ātapena = by the heat [of the sun]; ca = or; na = did not; vigacchati = diminish; vaidehyāḥ = Vaidehī’s; candra-aṁśu-sadṛśī = that resembled the moon rays; prabhā = radiance.
Vaidehī’s radiance that resembled the moon rays did not diminish on the way, by the force of the wind, by agitation due to fear of tigers and other wild beasts or by the heat [of the sun].
