Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 60: Kausalyā Continues to Lament
Text 2.60.17
सदृशं शतपत्रस्य पूर्णचन्द्रोपमप्रभम्।
वदनं तद्वदान्याया वैदेह्या न विकम्पते॥
sadṛśaṁ śata-patrasya pūrṇa-candropama-prabham
vadanaṁ tad vadānyāyā vaidehyā na vikampate
sadṛśam = resembled; śata-patrasya = a lotus; pūrṇa-candra-upama-prabham = with the radiance of the full moon; vadanam tat = the face; vadānyāyāḥ = of the sweet speaking 3; vaidehyāḥ = Vaidehī; na = never; vikampate = it faded.
The face of the sweet speaking Vaidehī resembled a lotus. With the radiance of the full moon, it never faded.
Sītā-devī’s face never faded, that is, it never gave up its natural radiance.
