Chapter 64: Daśaratha Gives up his Life in Remembrance of Lord Rāma
Text 2.64.22

सबाष्पपूर्णवदनो निःश्वसञ्शोककर्शितः।
मामुवाच महातेजाः कृताञ्जलिमुपस्थितम्।।

sa bāṣpa-pūrṇa-vadano niḥśvasañ śoka-karśitaḥ
mām uvāca mahā-tejāḥ kṛtāñjalim upasthitam

saḥ = that sage; bāṣpa-pūrṇa-vadanaḥ = his face was filled with tears; niḥśvasan = he sighed; śoka-karśitaḥ = and became emaciated in sorrow; mām = to me; uvāca = spoke; mahā-tejāḥ = of great prowess [then]; kṛta-añjalim = with my palms joined in supplication; upasthitam = who stood by him.

His face was filled with tears. He sighed and became emaciated in sorrow. That sage of great prowess [then] spoke to me who stood by him with my palms joined in supplication.
