Text 2.64.33
कस्य वापररात्रेऽहं श्रोष्यामि हृदयङ्गमम्।
अधीयानस्य मधुरं शास्त्रं वान्यद्विशेषतः॥
kasya vāpara-rātre ’haṁ śroṣyāmi hṛdayaṅgamam
adhīyānasya madhuraṁ śāstraṁ vānyad viśeṣataḥ
kasya vā = whose; apara-rātre = in the early mornings; aham = I; śroṣyāmi = will hear; hṛdayaṅgamam = enchanting voice; adhīyānasya = while reading out; madhuram = sweetly; śāstram = from the Vedic scriptures; vā = or else; anyat viśeṣataḥ = from the Itihāsas, Purāṇās and so on.
Whose enchanting voice will I hear in the early mornings, while sweetly reading out from the Vedic scriptures or else from the Itihāsas, Purāṇās and so on?
Hṛdayaṅgamam indicates that the young ascetic’s voice was very charming to the minds [of his parents].
