Chapter 64: Daśaratha Gives up his Life in Remembrance of Lord Rāma

स कृत्वा तूदकं तूर्णं तापसः सह भार्यया।
मामुवाच महातेजाः कृताञ्जलिमुपस्थितम्।।
sa kṛtvā tūdakaṁ tūrṇaṁ tāpasaḥ saha bhāryayā
mām uvāca mahā-tejāḥ kṛtāñjalim upasthitam
saḥ = the; kṛtvā tu = having offered; udakam = water; tūrṇam = quickly; tāpasaḥ = elderly ascetic; saha bhāryayā = with his wife; mām = to me; uvāca = spoke; mahā-tejāḥ = of great prowess; kṛta- añjalim = with my palms joined in supplication; upasthitam = who was standing by him.
Having quickly offered water with his wife, the elderly ascetic of great prowess spoke to me, who was standing by him, with my palms joined in supplication.
