Chapter 64: Daśaratha Gives up his Life in Remembrance of Lord Rāma

अयमात्मभवः शोको मामनाथमचेतनम्।
संसादयति वेगेन यथा कूलं नदीरयः॥
ayam ātma-bhavaḥ śoko mām anātham acetanam
saṁsādayati vegena yathā kūlaṁ nadī-rayaḥ
ayam = the; ātma-bhavaḥ = caused by my mind; śokaḥ = distress; mām = me; anātham = orphan; acetanam = into a senseless; saṁsādayati = has destroyed; vegena = with force; yathā = just as; kūlam = its bank; nadī-rayaḥ = the current of a river destroys.
The distress cause by my mind has destroyed me and made me into a senseless orphan just as the current of a river destroys its banks with force.
