Chapter 67: The Sages Request Vasiṣṭha to Coronate a son of Daśaratha
Text 2.67.30

ध्वजो रथस्य प्रज्ञानं धूमो ज्ञानं विभावसोः।
तेषां यो नो ध्वजो राजा स देवत्वमितो गतः॥

dhvajo rathasya prajñānaṁ dhūmo jñānaṁ vibhāvasoḥ
teṣāṁ yo no dhvajo rājā sa devatvam ito gataḥ

dhvajaḥ = a flag; rathasya = of a chariot; prajñānam = is the symbol; dhūmaḥ = and smoke; jñānam = is the sign; vibhāvasoḥ = of fire; teṣām1 yaḥ = who is; naḥ = our; dhvajaḥ = symbol; rājā saḥ = the king; devatvam = and become a celestial; itaḥ = from us; gataḥ = has departed.

A flag is the symbol of a chariot and smoke is the sign of fire. The king, who is our symbol and sign, has departed from us and become a celestial.
