Chapter 67: The Sages Request Vasiṣṭha to Coronate a son of Daśaratha

जीवत्यपि महाराजे तवैव वचनं वयम्।
नातिक्रमामहे सर्वे वेलां प्राप्येव सागरः॥
jīvaty api mahā-rāje tavaiva vacanaṁ vayam
nātikramāmahe sarve velāṁ prāpyeva sāgaraḥ
jīvati = was living; api = even; mahā-rāje = when the Mahārāja; tava eva = your; vacanam = instructions; vayam na = none of us; atikramāmahe = has ever transgressed; sarve1 velām = its boundaries; prāpya = that has reached; iva = like; sāgaraḥ = the ocean.
Even when the Mahārāja was living, none of us, like the ocean that has reached its boundaries, ever transgressed your instructions.
