Chapter 69: Bharata’s Distressing Dreams
Text 2.69.3
तप्यमानं समाज्ञाय वयस्याः प्रियवादिनः।
आयासं हि विनेष्यन्तः सभायां चक्रिरे कथाः॥
tapyamānaṁ samājñāya vayasyāḥ priyavādinaḥ
āyāsaṁ hi vineṣyantaḥ sabhāyāṁ cakrire kathāḥ
tapyamānam = to be greatly distressed; samājñāya = knowing Him; vayasyāḥ = his well-wishers; priyavādinaḥ = spoke sweet words; āyāsam hi = the distress in His mind; vineṣyantaḥ = to ward off; sabhāyām = in the assembly hall; cakrire = they spoke; kathāḥ = about various topics.
Knowing Him to be greatly distressed, His well-wishers spoke sweet words. They spoke about various topics in the assembly hall to ward off the distress in His mind.
