Chapter 69: Bharata’s Distressing Dreams
Text 2.69.10
ततस्तिलौदनं भुक्त्वा पुनःपुनरधःशिराः।
तैलेनाभ्यक्तसर्वाङ्गस्तैलमेवावगाहत॥
tatas tilaudanaṁ bhuktvā punaḥ punar adhaḥ-śirāḥ
tailenābhyakta-sarvāṅgas tailam evāvagāhata
tataḥ1 tila-odanam = rice mixed with oil; bhuktvā = after eating; punaḥ punaḥ = he repeatedly; adhaḥ-śirāḥ = turned his head down; tailena = with oil; abhyakta-sarva-aṅgaḥ = his body was smeared; tailam eva = in oil; avagāhata = and [yet] he immersed himself.
“After eating rice mixed with oil, he repeatedly turned his head down. His body was smeared with oil and [yet] he immersed himself in oil.
