एवमेतन्मया दृष्टमिमां रात्रिं भयावहाम्।
अहं रामोऽथवा राजा लक्ष्मणो वा मरिष्यति॥

evam etan mayā dṛṣṭam imāṁ rātriṁ bhayāvahām
ahaṁ rāmo ’thavā rājā lakṣmaṇo vā mariṣyati

evam etat = such a [dream]; mayā = when I; dṛṣṭam = saw; imām = on this; rātrim = night; bhaya-āvahām = dangerous; aham = I; rāmaḥ = Rāma; athavā = or; rājā = the king; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; mariṣyati = will die.

“On this dangerous night when I saw such a [dream], I, Rāma, the king or Lakṣmaṇa will die.

This was the conclusion [that Bharata had arrived at] upon seeing this dream.1
