Chapter 70: Bharata Departs from Rājagṛha
Text 2.70.2

समागम्य तु राज्ञा च राजपुत्रेण चार्चिताः।
राज्ञः पादौ गृहीत्वा तु तमूचुर्भरतं वचः॥

samāgamya tu rājñā ca rāja-putreṇa cārcitāḥ
rājñaḥ pādau gṛhītvā tu tam ūcur bharataṁ vacaḥ

samāgamya tu = when they approached; rājñā = the king; ca = and; rāja-putreṇa = the prince of Kekaya; ca arcitāḥ = they were honored by them; rājñaḥ = Prince; pādau = the feet of Bharata; gṛhītvā tu = they then touched; tam ūcuḥ bharatam vacaḥ = and spoke the following words to Him.

When they approached the king and the prince of Kekaya, they were honored by them. They then touched the feet of Prince Bharata and spoke the following words to Him.1

The prince was Yudhājit. The king and prince honored the messengers by glancing at [the gifts] that they had brought [from Ayodhyā].
