Chapter 71: Bharata Reaches Ayodhyā
Text 2.71.43
इत्येवमुक्त्वा भरतः सूतं तं दीनमानसः।
तान्यरिष्टान्ययोध्यायां प्रेक्ष्य राजगृहं ययौ॥
ity evam uktvā bharataḥ sūtaṁ taṁ dīna-mānasaḥ
tāny ariṣṭāny ayodhyāyāṁ prekṣya rāja-gṛhaṁ yayau
iti evam = these words; uktvā = spoke; bharataḥ = Bharata; sūtam tam = to the charioteer; dīna-mānasaḥ = who was distressed in mind; tāni = those; ariṣṭāni = signs of inauspiciousness; ayodhyāyām = in Ayodhyā; prekṣya = having seen; rāja-gṛham = the residence of King Daśaratha; yayau = and then entered.
Having seen those signs of inauspiciousness in Ayodhyā, Bharata who was distressed in mind spoke these words to the charioteer and then entered the residence of King Daśaratha.
