Chapter 72: Kaikeyī Informs Bharata About Daśaratha’s Death

अद्य ते कतिचिद्रात्र्यश्च्युतस्यार्यकवेश्मनः।
अपि नाध्वश्रमः शीघ्रं रथेनापततस्तव॥
adya te katicid rātryaś cyutasyāryaka-veśmanaḥ
api nādhva-śramaḥ śīghraṁ rathenāpatatas tava
adya = now; te = You; katicit = how many; rātryaḥ = nights [have passed since]; cyutasya = left; āryaka-veśmanaḥ api = the residence of Your noble maternal grandfather; na adhva-śramaḥ = are You tired because of the journey; śīghram = quickly; rathena = by chariot; āpatataḥ = have come; tava = [since] You.
How many nights [have passed since] You left the residence of Your noble maternal grandfather? Are You now tired because of the journey [since] You have come quickly by chariot?
