इमां तु पश्चिमां वाचं व्याजहार पिता तव।
कालधर्मपरिक्षिप्तः पाशैरिव महागजः॥
सिद्धार्थास्ते नरा राममागतं सीतया सह।
लक्ष्मणं च महाबाहुं द्रक्ष्यन्ति पुनरागतम्॥
vyājahāra pitā tava imāṁ tu paścimāṁ vācaṁ
kāla-dharma-parikṣiptaḥ pāśair iva mahā-gajaḥ
siddhārthās te narā rāmam āgataṁ sītayā saha
lakṣmaṇaṁ ca mahā-bāhuṁ drakṣyanti punar āgatam
imām tu = these; paścimām = final; vācam = words; vyājahāra = he uttered; pitā = father; tava = Your; kāla-dharma-parikṣiptaḥ = when was overcome by the force of death; pāśaiḥ = [overcome] by ropes; iva = like; mahā-gajaḥ = a great elephant; siddha-arthāḥ = will fulfill their purposes; te = when they; narāḥ = men; rāmam = Rāma; āgatam = return; sītayā = Sītā; saha = with; lakṣmaṇam = Lakṣmaṇa; ca = and [when they see]; mahā-bāhum = the mighty-armed; drakṣyanti = see; punaḥ āgatam = return.
When Your father was overcome by the force of death like a great elephant [overcome] by ropes, he uttered these final words, “Men will fulfill their purposes when they see Rāma return with Sītā and [when they see] the mighty-armed Lakṣmaṇa return.”
