Chapter 72: Kaikeyī Informs Bharata About Daśaratha’s Death
Text 2.72.50
स स्ववृतिं समास्थाय पिता ते तत्तथाकरोत्।
रामश्च सहसौमित्रिः प्रेषितः सीतया सह॥
sa sva-vṛttiṁ samāsthāya pitā te tat tathākarot
rāmaś ca saha-saumitriḥ preṣitaḥ sītayā saha
saḥ sva-vṛttim samāsthāya = on the basis of his promise [to me to fulfill those two boons] and; pitā = father; te = Your; tat tathā akarot = did so; rāmaḥ ca = Rāma; saha-saumitriḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; preṣitaḥ = sent away; sītayā = Sītā; saha = and.
On the basis of his promise [to me to fulfill those two boons], Your father did so and sent Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā away.
