Chapter 74: Bharata Condemns Kaikeyī
Text 2.74.22
एवमुक्ता तु सुरभिः सुरराजेन धीमता।
प्रत्युवाच ततो धीरा वाक्यं वाक्यविशारदम्॥
evam uktā tu surabhiḥ sura-rājena dhīmatā
pratyuvāca tato dhīrā vākyaṁ vākya-viśāradam
evam = thus; uktā tu = when spoke; surabhiḥ = to surabhi; sura-rājena = king of the devas; dhīmatā = the intelligent; pratyuvāca = replied; tataḥ1 dhīrā = that sober [cow]; vākyam = in the following words; vākya-viśāradam = to Indra who was expert in speech.
When the intelligent king of the devas thus spoke to surabhi, that sober [cow] replied to Indra, who was expert in speech, in the following words.
