Chapter 74: Bharata Condemns Kaikeyī
Text 2.74.29
एकपुत्रा च साध्वी च विवत्सेयं त्वया कृता।
तस्मात्त्वं सततं दुःखं प्रेत्य चेह च लप्स्यसे॥
eka-putrā ca sādhvī ca vivatseyaṁ tvayā kṛtā
tasmāt tvaṁ satataṁ duḥkhaṁ pretya ceha ca lapsyase
eka-putrā ca = with a single son; sādhvī ca = saintly lady; vivatsā = sonless; iyam = that; tvayā = you; kṛtā = have made; tasmāt = consequently; tvam = you; satatam duḥkham = a state of constant misery; pretya = after your death; ca = and; iha ca = in this life; lapsyase = will attain.
You have made that saintly lady with a single son sonless. Consequently you will attain a state of constant misery in this life and after your death.
