Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 75: Bharata’s Conversation with Kausalyā-devī
Text 2.75.19

आर्ये कस्मादजानन्तं गर्हसे मामकिल्बिषम्।
विपुलां च मम प्रीतिं स्थिरां जानासि राघवे॥

ārye kasmād ajānantaṁ garhase mām akilbiṣam
vipulāṁ ca mama prītiṁ sthirāṁ jānāsi rāghave

ārye = noble lady; kasmāt = why; ajānantam = I have been unaware of [My mother’s] plans to coronate Me and so on; garhase = do you chastise; mām = Me; akilbiṣam = I am innocent; vipulām = extensive; ca = and; mama = My; prītim = about love; sthirām = steady; jānāsi = you [certainly] know; rāghave = for Rāghava.

Noble lady, why do you chastise Me? I am innocent. I have been unaware of [My mother’s] plans to coronate Me and so on. You [certainly] know about My steady and extensive love for Rāghava.

From the next verse, Bharata utters curses to exonerate Himself of the wrongs Kausalyā has accused Him [of being a party to].
