Chapter 78: Śatrughna Punishes Mantharā
Text 2.78.17
तस्या ह्याकृष्यमाणाया मन्थरायास्ततस्ततः।
चित्रं बहुविधं भाण्डं पृथिव्यां तद्व्यशीर्यत॥
tasyā hy ākṛṣyamāṇāyā mantharāyās tatas tataḥ
citraṁ bahu-vidhaṁ bhāṇḍaṁ pṛthivyāṁ tad vyaśīryata
tasyāḥ hi ākṛṣyamāṇāyāḥ = who was dragged; mantharāyāḥ = of Mantharā; tataḥ tataḥ = here and there; citram = colorful; bahu-vidham = and variegated; bhāṇḍam = ornaments 3; pṛthivyām = on the ground; tat = the; vyaśīryata = broke up and scattered.
When He dragged Mantharā here and there, her colorful and variegated ornaments broke up and scattered on the ground.
