Chapter 81: Vasiṣṭha Summons Bharata
Text 2.81.14
ततो हलहलाशब्द: सुमहान्समपद्यत।
रथैरश्वैर्गजैश्चापि जनानामुपगच्छताम्॥
tato hala-halā-śabdaḥ sumahān samapadyata
rathair aśvair gajaiś cāpi janānām upagacchatām
tataḥ = then; hala-halā-śabdaḥ = clamor; sumahān = a very great; samapadyata = there arose; rathaiḥ = with chariots; aśvaiḥ = horses; gajaiḥ = elephants; ca api = and; janānām = among the people; upagacchatām = arriving.
Then there arose a very great clamor among the people arriving with chariots, horses and elephants.
