निष्कुटश्चैव देशोऽयं वञ्चिताश्चापि ते वयम्।
निवेदयामस्ते सर्वे स्वके दासकुले वस॥
niṣkuṭaś caiva deśo ’yaṁ vañcitāś cāpi te vayam
nivedayāmas te sarve svake dāsa-kule vasa
niṣkuṭaḥ ca eva = is Your home garden 1; deśaḥ = forest land of mine; ayam = this; vañcitāḥ = we submit that we have been deprived of the information concerning Your arrival; ca api = and; te = belong to You; vayam = of us; nivedayāmaḥ = so we request; te sarve = all; svake dāsa-kule = in this residence of your servants; vasa = so we request that You please reside.
This forest land of mine is Your home garden and we submit that we have been deprived of the information concerning Your arrival. All of us belong to You. So we request that You please reside in this residence of Your servants.
“This forest land of mine is Your home garden” indicates that Guha wanted to tell Bharata that the forest land ruled by him was fit for Bharata’s enjoyment.
Guha implied that if they had been informed that Bharata would arrive there, they could have welcomed Him and so on.
Guha states here that he didn’t know that Bharata would arrive even though a route was constructed up to Gaṅgā [from Ayodhyā] because Bharata did not send a man [informing Guha of His plans].
