Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 86: Guha Relates Rāma’s Pastimes on the Bank of Gaṅgā
Text 2.86.14

विनद्य सुमहानादं श्रमेणोपरताः स्त्रियः।
निर्घोषोपरतं नूनमद्य राजनिवेशनम्॥

vinadya sumahā-nādaṁ śrameṇoparatāḥ striyaḥ
nighoṣoparataṁ nūnam adya rāja-niveśanam

vinadya = who cried out; sumahā-nādam = very loudly; śrameṇa = due to exhaustion; uparatāḥ = would have ceased; striyaḥ = I think that the women; nighoṣa-uparatam = would be silent; nūnam = certainly; adya = today; rāja-niveśanam = the king’s residence too.

I think that the women who cried out very loudly would have ceased due to exhaustion today. Certainly the king’s residence too would be silent.1

1 Because the ladies had become too exhausted by crying.
