vyuṣya rātriṁ tu tatraiva gaṅgā-kūle sa rāghavaḥ
bharataḥ kālyam utthāya śatrughnam idam abravīt
vyuṣya = having spent; rātrim tu = the night; tatra eva = on that very spot; gaṅgā-kūle = on the bank of Gaṅgā; saḥ rāghavaḥ = the descendant of Raghu; bharataḥ = Bharata; kālyam = early in the morning 1; utthāya = woke up; śatrughnam = to Śatrughna; idam = as follows; abravīt = and then spoke.
Having spent the night on that very spot on the bank of Gaṅgā, Bharata, the descendant of Raghu, woke up early in the morning and then spoke to Śatrughna as follows.
Tatraiva (“on that very spot”) indicates [that Bharata spent the night] in that spot where Rāma had gone to sleep.
