Chapter 89: Bharata Crosses Gaṅgā and Reaches Prayāga
Text 2.89.8
ततो गुहः संत्वरितं श्रुत्वा भरतशासनम्।
प्रति प्रविश्य नगरं तं ज्ञातिजनमब्रवीत्॥
tato guhaḥ santvaritaṁ śrutvā bharata-śāsanam
prati praviśya nagaraṁ taṁ jñāti-janam abravīt
tataḥ guhaḥ = Guha; santvaritam = quickly; śrutvā = upon hearing; bharata-śāsanam = Bharata’s order; prati praviśya = re-entered; nagaram = his city; tam jñāti-janam = to his relatives [as follows]; abravīt = and spoke.
Upon hearing Bharata’s order, Guha quickly re-entered his city and spoke to his relatives [as follows].1
1 Guha re-entered his city because he was in his city the previous night. He came from his city to meet Bharata and then re-entered his city to carry out Bharata’s order.
