Chapter 91: Bharadvāja’s Hospitality to Bharata, His Army and Family
Text 2.91.59

इति पादातयोधाश्च हस्त्यश्वारोहबन्धकाः।
अनाथास्तं विधिं लब्ध्वा वाचमेतामुदैरयन्॥

iti pādāta-yodhāś ca hasty-aśvāroha-bandhakāḥ
anāthās taṁ vidhiṁ labdhvā vācam etām udairayan

iti pādāta-yodhāḥ = the foot soldiers; ca = and; hasti-aśva-āroha-bandhakāḥ = horse riders, mahouts, chariot drivers and their servants; anāthāḥ = ignored their authorities; tam = such; vidhim = hospitality; labdhvā = having received; vācam = words; etām = such; udairayan = exclaimed.

Having received such hospitality, the foot soldiers, horse riders, mahouts, chariot drivers and their servants ignored their authorities and exclaimed such words.

Anāthāḥ indicates that they became independent [in thought].
