Chapter 92: Bharata Departs for Citrakūṭa
Text 2.92.11

उत्तरं पार्श्वमासाद्य तस्य मन्दाकिनी नदी।
पुष्पितद्रुमसंछन्ना रम्यपुष्पितकानना॥

uttaraṁ pārśvam āsādya tasya mandākinī nadī
puṣpita-druma-sañchannā ramya-puṣpita-kānanā

uttaram pārśvam = the north; āsādya = that has reached; tasya = of that mountain; mandākinī = named Mandākinī; nadī = there is a river; puṣpita-druma-sañchannā = fully covered with flowering trees; ramya-puṣpita-kānanā = and charming flower gardens.

There is a river named Mandākinī, fully covered with flowering trees and charming flower gardens, that has reached the north of that mountain.

The [flowering] trees were distinct from [those found in] the gardens.

GLOSS. It should be understood that these trees grew [right] on the banks. The gardens were at [some] distance [from the river].
