Text 2.92.19

एवमुक्तस्तु भरतो भरद्वाजेन धार्मिकः।
उवाच प्राञ्जलिर्भूत्वा वाक्यं वचनकोविदः॥

evam uktas tu bharato bharadvājena dhārmikaḥ
uvāca prāñjalir bhūtvā vākyaṁ vacana-kovidaḥ

evam = thus; uktaḥ tu = asked Him; bharataḥ = Bharata; bharadvājena = when Bharadvāja; dhārmikaḥ = dhārmika; uvāca = and spoke; prāñjaliḥ bhūtvā = joined His palms in supplication; vākyam = the following words; vacana-kovidaḥ = who was expert in understanding others’ words.

When Bharadvāja asked Him thus, dhārmika Bharata who was expert in understanding others’ words joined His palms in supplication and spoke the following words.

Bharata was dhārmika, that is, he spoke the truth [under all circumstances as taught in the scriptures]. Bharata was expert in understanding others’ words, that is, He understood the intended meaning of Bharadvāja’s words. The sage wanted Bharata to state His mothers’ specific natures.
