व्यवस्थिता या भरतेन सा चमूर्निरीक्षमाणापि च धूममग्रतः।
बभूव हृष्टा नचिरेण जानती प्रियस्य रामस्य समागमं तदा॥
vyavasthitā yā bharatena sā camūr
nirīkṣamāṇāpi ca dhūmam agrataḥ
babhūva hṛṣṭā nacireṇa jānatī
priyasya rāmasya samāgamaṁ tadā
vyavasthitā yā = that was halted; bharatena = by Bharata; sā camūḥ = the army; nirīkṣamāṇā api ca = simply by seeing; dhūmam = the [column of] smoke; agrataḥ = in front of them; babhūva = became; hṛṣṭā = delighted; nacireṇa = they will soon; jānatī = knowing that; priyasya rāmasya = their beloved Rāma; samāgamam tadā = meet.
The army that was halted by Bharata became delighted simply by seeing the [column of] smoke in front of them, knowing that they will soon meet their beloved Rāma.

1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhāva-dīpa: samāgamam uddiśya bharatena sthāpitā. This also indicates that He wanted the army to meet Rāma.
The army was extremely eager to see Rāma. They were happy even when they were halted by Bharata [what to speak of when they would meet Him].
In some manuscripts, jānakī-priyasya appears instead of jānatī priyasya indicating that Lord Rāma was Jānakī’s beloved husband.
GLOSS. Bharata had halted the army intending to meet [Rāma].1
NOTE. Practitioners of bhakti-yoga should be as enthusiastic to attain the service of the Supreme Lord as Bharata’s army was to meet Rāma. This principle is noted by Prabhupāda as follows in his purport to Bhagavad-gītā (6.24):
Regarding bhakti-yoga, Rūpa Gosvāmī says:
utsāhān niścayād dhairyāt tat-tat-karma-pravartanāt
saṅga-tyāgāt sato vṛtteḥ ṣaḍbhir bhaktiḥ prasidhyati
“One can execute the process of bhakti-yoga successfully with full-hearted enthusiasm, perseverance, and determination, by following the prescribed duties in the association of devotees and by engaging completely in activities of goodness.” (Upadeśāmṛta 3)
