Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 95: Rāma Describes Mandākinī’s Beauty to Sītā
Text 2.95.14

सखीवच्च विगाहस्व सीते मन्दाकिनीं नदीम्।
कमलान्यवमज्जन्ती पुष्कराणि च भामिनि॥

sakhīvac ca vigāhasva sīte mandākinīṁ nadīm
kamalāny avamajjantī puṣkarāṇi ca bhāmini

sakhīvat ca = as [you would do] with your friends; vigāhasva = plunge; sīte = Sītā; mandākinīm = Mandākinī; nadīm = into the river; kamalāni = the red; avamajjantī = submerging; puṣkarāṇi ca = and white lotuses; bhāmini = beautiful.

Beautiful Sītā, plunge into the river Mandākinī as [you would do] with your friends, submerging the red and white lotuses.

Sakhīvac ca vigāhasva indicates that [Lord Rāma wanted Sītā-devī] to plunge into the river with Him just as [she would] with her friends.

Avamajjantī. [When Sītā-devī would enter the water,] she would put [the red and white lotuses] to shame by the beauty of her face.
