Chapter 98: Bharata Locates Rāma’s Āśrama
Text 2.98.18

स चित्रकूटे तु गिरौ निशम्य रामाश्रमं पुण्यजनोपपन्नम्।
गुहेन सार्धं त्वरितो जगाम पुनर्निवेश्यैव चमूं महात्मा॥

sa citrakūṭe tu girau niśamya
rāmāśramaṁ puṇya-janopapannam
guhena sārdhaṁ tvarito jagāma
punar niveśyaiva camūṁ mahātmā

saḥ = Bharata; citrakūṭe tu = Citrakūṭa; girau = on the mountain; niśamya = having heard; rāma-āśramam = about Rāma’s āśrama; puṇya-jana-upapannam = near [the residence of] pious men; guhena sārdham = with Guha; tvaritaḥ = and quickly; jagāma = went; punaḥ = again; niveśya eva = camped [where it was]; camūm = had His army; mahatma = of firm determination.

Having heard about Rāma’s āśrama near [the residence of] pious men on the mountain Citrakūṭa, Bharata of firm determination again had His army camped [where it was] and quickly went with Guha.

[Bharata] heard from pious men living next to Rāma’s āśrama [that Rāma resided there]. Guha here includes others too, [but he is mentioned here by name] because he was Bharata’s primary associate there. Bharata had the [other members of] the army who had gone to search for Rāma stationed [where the entire army was].1

1 Because He had discovered Rāma’s factual residence.
