Chapter 100: Rāma Instructs Bharata About the Duties of a King
Text 2.100.74

कच्चिदेषैव ते बुद्धिर्यथोक्ता मम राघव।
आयुष्या च यशस्या च धर्मकामार्थसंहिता॥

kaccid eṣaiva te buddhir yathoktā mama rāghava
āyuṣyā ca yaśasyā ca dharma-kāmārtha-saṁhitā

kaccit = is; eṣā eva = here; te = Your; buddhiḥ = intelligence; yathā-uktā mama = as I have described; rāghava = O descendant of Raghu; āyuṣyā = conducive to a long life; ca = and; yaśasyā = fame; ca = and; dharma-kāma-artha-saṁhitā = in accordance with dharma, artha and kāma.

O descendant of Raghu, is Your intelligence conducive to longevity and fame, in accordance with dharma, artha and kāma, and as I have described here?

यां वृत्तिं वर्तते तातो यां च नः प्रपितामहाः।
तां वृत्तिं वर्तसे कच्चिद्या च सत्पथगा शुभा॥

yāṁ vṛttiṁ vartate tāto yāṁ ca naḥ prapitāmahāḥ
tāṁ vṛttiṁ vartase kaccid yā ca satya-pathagā śubhā

yām = that; vṛttim = [the course of action]; vartate = takes; tātaḥ = father King Daśaratha; yām = that; ca = and; naḥ = Our; prapitāmahāḥ = Our great-grandfather and other predecessors have taken; tām = that; vṛttim = course of action; vartase = follow; kaccit = do You; ca satya-pathagā = that is in line with truthfulness; śubhā = the blameless course of action.
