Chapter 103: Rāma Meets His Mothers and Vasiṣṭha
Text 2.103.8
दक्षिणाग्रेषु दर्भेषु सा ददर्श महीतले।
पितुरिङ्गुदिपिण्याकं न्यस्तमायतलोचना॥
dakṣiṇāgreṣu darbheṣu sā dadarśa mahī-tale
pitur iṅgudi-piṇyākaṁ nyastam āyata-locanā
dakṣiṇa-agreṣu = whose tips pointed to the south; darbheṣu = on darbha grasses; sā = lady; dadarśa = saw; mahī-tale = on the ground; pituḥ = for Rāma’s father; iṅgudi-piṇyākam = the oilcake of iṅgudī; nyastam = placed; āyata-locanā = the wide-eyed.
The wide-eyed lady saw the oilcake of iṅgudī placed on darbha grasses, whose tips pointed to the south, on the ground for Rāma’s father.
