Chapter 103: Rāma Meets His Mothers and Vasiṣṭha
Text 2.103.9
तं भूमौ पितुरार्तेन न्यस्तं रामेण वीक्ष्य सा।
उवाच देवी कौसल्या सर्वा दशरथस्त्रियः॥
taṁ bhūmau pitur ārtena nyastaṁ rāmeṇa vīkṣya sā
uvāca devī kausalyā sarvā daśaratha-striyaḥ
tam = it; bhūmau = on the ground; pituḥ = for His father; ārtena = by the distressed; nyastam = had been placed; rāmeṇa = Rāma; vīkṣya = noticing that; sā uvāca = spoke; devī = Queen; kausalyā = Kausalyā; sarvāḥ = to all of; daśaratha-striyaḥ = Daśaratha’s wives.
Noticing that it had been placed on the ground by the distressed Rāma for His father, Queen Kausalyā spoke to all of Daśaratha’s wives.
