Chapter 104: Bharata Beseeches Rāma to Rule the Kingdom
Text 2.104.7
सा राज्यफलमप्राप्य विधवा शोककर्शिता।
पतिष्यति महाघोरे निरये जननी मम॥
sā rājya-phalam aprāpya vidhavā śoka-karśitā
patiṣyati mahā-ghore niraye jananī mama
sā = this lady who impelled him to commit this sin; rājya-phalam = the kingdom; aprāpya = without finally attaining; vidhavā = has become a widow; śoka-karśitā = and is emaciated with grief; patiṣyati = will fall; mahā-ghore = greatly terrible; niraye = into a hell; jananī = mother; mama = My.
Without finally attaining the kingdom, this lady who impelled him to commit this sin has become a widow and is emaciated with grief. My mother will fall into a greatly terrible hell.
