Chapter 104: Bharata Beseeches Rāma to Rule the Kingdom

वने वा चीरवसनं सौम्य कृष्णाजिनाम्बरम्।
राज्ये वापि महाराजो मां वासयितुमीश्वरः॥
vane vā cīra-vasanaṁ saumya kṛṣṇājināmbaram
rājye vāpi mahā-rājo māṁ vāsayitum īśvaraḥ
vane = in the forest; vā = and; cīra-vasanam = an upper cloth of bark from a tree; saumya = gentle one; kṛṣṇa-ajina-ambaram = a lower garment of black deer skin; rājye = in the kingdom; vā api = or [to be]; mahā-rājaḥ = the Mahārāja; mām = Me; vāsayitum = to wear; īśvaraḥ = can order.
Gentle one, the Mahārāja can order Me to wear an upper cloth of bark from a tree and a lower garment of black deer skin in the forest or [to be] in the kingdom.
