Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 105: Rāma Consoles Bharata With Spiritual Instructions
Text 2.105.1

ततः पुरुषसिंहानां वृतानां तैः सुहृद्गणैः।
शोचतामेव रजनी दुःखेन व्यत्यवर्तत॥

tataḥ puruṣa-siṁhānāṁ vṛtānāṁ taiḥ suhṛd-gaṇaiḥ
śocatām eva rajanī duḥkhena vyatyavartata

tataḥ = while; puruṣa-siṁhānām = the princes; vṛtānām = surrounded; taiḥ = by Their; suhṛt-gaṇaiḥ = well-wishers; śocatām eva = were still grieving; rajanī = the night; duḥkhena = in distress; vyatyavartata = passed.

While the princes were still grieving, surrounded by Their well-wishers, the night passed in distress.

Bharata again spoke to Rāma. He gave Him reasons to set aside the order that King Daśaratha was obliged to issue on the behest of Kaikeyī. Rāma then comforted Him with philosophical instructions. All of this is described in this chapter.
