Chapter 108: Jābāli Speaks the Philosophy of Materialism

यथा ग्रामान्तरं गच्छन्नरः कश्चित्क्वचिद्वसेत्।
उत्सृज्य च तमावासं प्रतिष्ठेतापरेऽहनि॥
yathā grāmāntaraṁ gacchan naraḥ kaścit kvacid vaset
utsṛjya ca tam āvāsaṁ pratiṣṭhetāpare ’hani
yathā = for instance; grāma-antaram = to another village; gacchan = travelling; naraḥ = a man; kaścit = he; kvacit = at a place; vaset = may stay; utsṛjya = leaves; ca = and; tam = that; āvāsam = place; pratiṣṭheta = goes [to his destination]; apare = [but] on the next; ahani = day.
For instance, a man traveling to another village may stay at a place, [but] on the next day he leaves that place and goes [to his destination].
