भूमिः कीर्तिर्यशो लक्ष्मीः पुरुषं प्रार्थयन्ति हि।
स्वर्गस्थं चानुपश्यन्ति सत्यमेव भजेत तत्॥
bhūmiḥ kīrtir yaśo lakṣmīḥ puruṣaṁ prārthayanti hi
svargasthaṁ cānupaśyanti satyam eva bhajeta tat
bhūmiḥ = the earth; kīrtiḥ = fame due to liberality; yaśaḥ = renown due to manliness; lakṣmīḥ = and wealth; puruṣam = a man who is fixed in truthfulness in body, mind and words; prārthayanti hi = seek; svargastham = [when] he is situated in the heavens; ca = and; anupaśyanti = follow him; satyam eva = of truthfulness; bhajeta tat = therefore one should simply take shelter.
The earth, fame due to liberality, renown due to manliness and wealth seek a man who is fixed in truthfulness in body, mind and words, and follow him [when] he is situated in the heavens. Therefore one should simply take shelter of truthfulness.
