Chapter 110: Vasiṣṭha Requests Rāma to Accept the Throne
Text 2.110.33
तस्य ज्येष्ठोऽसि दायादो राम इत्यभिविश्रुतः।
तद्गृहाण स्वकं राज्यमवेक्षस्व जनं नृप॥
tasya jyeṣṭho ’si dāyādo rāma ity abhiviśrutaḥ
tad gṛhāṇa svakaṁ rājyam avekṣasva janaṁ nṛpa
tasya = his; jyeṣṭhaḥ = eldest; asi = You are; dāyādaḥ = son 1; rāmaḥ iti = as Rāma; abhiviśrutaḥ = known far and wide; tat = so; gṛhāṇa = accept; svakam = Your; rājyam = kingdom; avekṣasva = and look after; janam = the people [in the kingdom]; nṛpa = O king.
“O king, known far and wide as Rāma, You are his eldest son. So accept Your kingdom and look after the people [in the kingdom].
